Our Reception team have many years experience welcoming children and their families to our school. Our priority is to get to know each individual, to help them settle and enjoy participating in a wide range of learning experiences. Reception is all about developing the friendships, skills, attitudes and behaviours they will use for the rest of their school careers and the rest of their lives!

• Monday 5^th January: Teacher Education Day (TED) 6
• Thursday 8^th January: Alternative Open Day for EYFS intake September 2026 MS - 9:30am and An – 2:00pm
• W/b Monday 12^th January: SEND Review Meetings
• Wednesday 21^st January: SEND Parents’/Carers’ Coffee Morning (MS, 9:15-10:15am)
• W/b 2^nd February: ‘Learning Together’ Writing Workshops – join us to find out how we teach Writing at HPS and enjoy an opportunity to complete some writing activities with your child.

• EYFS & Y5: Monday 2^nd February (9:05-10:00am) 

• Thursday 5^th February: ‘Time to Talk’ Mental Health focus
• Friday 6^th February: NSPCC Number Day - Children are invited to wear brightly coloured clothes or attire related to Maths, such as clothing decorated with numbers, shapes, repeating patterns or symbols.  We will be enjoying Maths challenges and activities during the day.  Families are asked please to make a suggested donation of £1 per child to the NSPCC via ParentPay.
• W/b Monday 9^th February:  Online Safety Week
• Monday 9^th – Thursday 12^th February Book Fair
• Tuesday 10^th and Thursday 12^th February: Parents’ Evenings (4:00-6:00pm)
• Thursday 5^th March: World Book Day.  Children are invited to come to school dressed as a book character.

• Thursday 7^th May: TED 7 – School closed to children
• Friday 15^th May: EYFS and KS1 Sports Afternoon at Lordswood Boys’ School
• Friday 22^nd May: KS2 Sports Afternoon at Lordswood Boys’ School
• Friday 17^th July: Last day of term for children
• Monday 20^th July: TED 8 - – School closed to children
